About

A small mill with a stubborn habit for freshness

Vadnagar Tea and Spicy Masala works out of a modest unit in Naroda GIDC. We buy whole spices in small lots from Unjha and Kesod, dry roast on our own drum, and grind in short runs so the oil in the seed still smells like the field.

Everything we pack carries a mixing date on the pouch. Nothing sits in a bin for a month. If a batch has moved slowly, we sell it at a lower price instead of pushing it as fresh, because a masala loses half its life after ninety days.

The tea side is simpler. We source from small estates around the Nilgiris and Assam borders, cup them ourselves, and stock only what we would want in our own kettle. If you want a house blend for your kirana or hotel, tell us the water and the milk you use, we will match it.

What we pack

A short list, kept honest

Every pouch is date stamped. We stick to a small catalogue so we can keep an eye on every batch.

Vadnagar chai masala01

Vadnagar chai masala

Green cardamom heavy, with dry ginger, clove, black pepper and a small pinch of nutmeg. Meant for the classic milk chai, not for cutting.

50 g, 100 g, 250 g pouches. 1 kg trade tin.

House loose tea02

House loose tea

A CTC and orthodox blend, cupped for strength with buffalo milk and a spoon of sugar. The default choice of the neighbourhood tea stalls we supply.

100 g, 250 g, 500 g. Bulk sacks on order.

Garam masala03

Garam masala

Ground once a week from freshly roasted coriander, cumin, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, black pepper and mace. Kitchen strength, not the mild north Indian version.

50 g, 100 g, 250 g pouches.

Kashmiri red chilli04

Kashmiri red chilli

Slow ground for colour without sharp heat. We pass three lots side by side to keep the shade consistent from month to month.

100 g, 250 g, 500 g pouches.

Dhana jeera05

Dhana jeera

Coriander and cumin in the Gujarati ratio, roasted just enough to bloom. Fresh nutty aroma when you open the pouch, that is the mark.

100 g, 250 g, 500 g pouches.

Household blends on order06

Household blends on order

Sambar, rasam, pav bhaji, chhole. Small runs for a shop, or a private label pack for a hotel with your own name on it.

How a pouch happens

From the sack to the shelf, five clean steps

Step 01

Sourcing

Whole spices from Unjha, tea from small Nilgiris and Assam gardens. Every lot is smelled and hand cleaned before it enters the mill.

Step 02

Roasting

Drum roasted in small batches at low heat. Coriander, cumin and cardamom each get their own pass so nothing is scorched.

Step 03

Grinding

Short runs on a cooled mill so the oils in the seed stay in the powder, not on the walls of the grinder.

Step 04

Sieving and mixing

Every blend is sieved twice, then mixed by weight to the same recipe we have carried for years.

Step 05

Packing

Sealed in food grade laminate with a mixing date. Packed the same week it is ground, and dispatched by road across Gujarat.

Packing sizes

Sizes for kitchens, kiranas and kitchens that never sleep

We keep pouch sizes small on retail lines so a family finishes them within the fresh window. Trade pack sizes are larger for shops and hotels that turn stock every fortnight.
